We are seeking a HGV Mechanics, based at our Cambridge compound, working on our fleet of commercial Fuel, Water and Welfare tankers. This will be largely based at one site, with the occasional need to travel up to 1 hour maximum. A service van and company training will be provided.
Role Requirements
Good written and numerical skills with good attention to detail
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualified technician or equivalent experience
Driving licence essential
HGV Class 2 Licence is preferred but not essential
CSCS Card required but can be provided
ADR can be provided
Own tools required
Experience with MAN trucks and ManCats diagnostics preferred but not essential
Previous experience working on and repairing HGV's
Proactive, innovative and creative approach towards problem solving
Able to prioritise tasks well
Strong team player, encouraging and engaging, able to communicate at all levels
The successful applicant will be required Monday-Friday but must be flexible if after-hours callouts are required. Occasional weekends may also be required.
Role Responsibilities
To maintain vehicles and conduct inspections to MOT standard, undertake general repairs and offsite breakdowns of our fleet of vehicles
Carry out diagnostic tests on vehicles
Carry out periodic safety inspections to VOSA standards
Correctly complete all paperwork required for the role in a timely manner
Communicate effectively with all colleagues
Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping
Maintain excellent Health and Safety standards
