Murphy Plant is one of the largest providers of plant, transport, and equipment in the UK. Managing and maintaining over £100 million worth of assets, our inventory includes more than 15,000 items, from small tools to piling rigs. We are currently looking for an Artic Low Loader Driver to join our team on a permanent basis.
What your day will look like:
1. Operate Artic Low Loader: Safely operate the vehicle to load, unload, and transport goods such as building materials, machinery, and heavy items.
2. Vehicle Safety & Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle and equipment are well-maintained, report issues promptly, and perform daily checks before work.
3. Route Planning & Navigation: Plan routes to meet deadlines, considering traffic, road restrictions, and vehicle size limits.
4. Load Securing: Properly secure loads following safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
5. Compliance with Regulations: Follow legal requirements, including driving regulations, safety guidelines, and site protocols.
6. Documentation & Paperwork: Complete necessary paperwork such as delivery notes and logs, ensuring customer signatures upon delivery.
7. Customer Interaction: Provide courteous service, maintaining a positive company image.
8. Site Health & Safety: Conduct risk assessments and follow safe operating practices.
What we need from you:
* Valid Artic Low Loader Licence: Must hold a current Artic licence (CPCS or equivalent).
* Valid UK Driving Licence: Full UK licence (C+E or C category), with a preference for a clean record.
* Driver CPC Qualification: Valid CPC to ensure compliance with driver hours and professional development.
* TACHO: Compliance with tachograph regulations.
* Health & Safety Awareness: Good understanding of safety regulations related to heavy vehicles and crane operation.
