Facilities / Health & Safety Officer
Location: Hinkley
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities / Health & Safety Officer to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and health and safety standards Leicestershire. This is a vital role ensuring safe, well-maintained, and legally compliant environment
A NEBOSH qualification and previous experience in a similar role are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with Directors and Health & Safety consultants to uphold and improve safety standards across all sites.
* Conduct routine visual inspections and complete monthly premises checklists and equipment audits.
* Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring health and safety compliance throughout.
* Identify, report, and escalate any safety risks, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
* Maintain and update all health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and compliance trackers.
* Deliver H&S inductions and training for new employees, agency staff, and temporary workers.
* Maintain clean, safe, secure, and professional working environments across all sites.
* Ensure all buildings, equipment, and systems are compliant with legal standards (e.g., H&S regulations, Fire Safety, PAT Testing) and that relevant records are complete and current.
* Monitor workplace risks and take appropriate corrective action or escalate as necessary.
* Oversee general site maintenance and facilities management.
* Appoint and coordinate contractors, review RAMS and other documentation, and ensure site inductions are delivered.
* Communicate clearly with internal teams regarding planned maintenance and contractor visits.
Key Skills & Attributes:
* Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety or Facilities role
* NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum requirement)
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
* Flexible and dependable team player with the ability to work independently
* Experience in logistics, freight, or multi-site operations (desirable)
* Full UK driving licence (clean) and willingness to travel between sites
* Professional, honest, and positive attitude with excellent work ethic
Additional Requirements:
Due to the nature of the business and regulatory compliance, the successful candidate will be required to complete a 5-year employment history check and a DBS background check as part of the recruitment process.
