Job Description
We’re working with a leading national housebuilder to appoint a Development Manager for their Leicester-based regional business.
This is a highly planning-focused position, playing a key role in the appraisal and delivery of new residential developments across the East Midlands. You’ll work closely with both the Regional Land Team and Group Strategic Land Team, helping to unlock and drive sites from early-stage appraisal through to securing planning consent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Appraising new land opportunities from a planning and development perspective
* Advising on planning strategy, risk and programme during land acquisition
* Leading and managing the planning application process from submission through to determination
* Appointing and coordinating external consultants (planning, technical, environmental, etc.)
* Managing local authority relationships and key stakeholders
* Supporting appeals, reserved matters and condition discharge processes
* Ensuring planning obligations and S106 requirements are understood and managed
About You:
* Strong experience managing residential planning applications (outline and/or full)
* Background within a housebuilder, developer, consultancy or local authority
* Commercially aware, with the ability to assess planning risk in land appraisals
* Confident managing consultants and engaging with planning officers and stakeholders
* MRTPI qualification not required, but detailed, hands-on planning application experience is essential
