The Bristol NHS Group brings together two of the region’s leading hospital trusts: University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT). Together, we are working towards a joint hospital model that delivers better outcomes, improved efficiency, and greater impact for the communities we serve.
This is an exciting time to join a collaborative, ambitious leadership team shaping the future of healthcare across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). Our work is grounded in partnership and innovation – and we are now looking for an Associate Director of Financial Transformation to lead the transformation of our financial operations into the new joint group model.
The Associate Director of Financial Transformation is a key member of the group finance senior leadership team. This role is responsible for managing the transformation of the finance function, delivering the new group finance operating model. You will play a central role in shaping and delivering our financial systems, controls, policies and strategy – aligned with our clinical priorities and long-term financial sustainability goals. You will work closely with senior finance leaders across the group.
Over the next two years, the postholder will have a crucial leadership role in the transition to a single finance function using a single set of financial systems.
You will work across organisational boundaries, supporting the Group model and partnerships that benefit our patients, staff, and local system. This role requires exceptional NHS finance knowledge and strong leadership capabilities. You will also work across financial disciplines and will therefore need a high level of knowledge and understanding of all areas of financial operations including statutory reporting, ledger and transactional accounting, central and divisional financial management, financial sustainability and income.

Our vision is that by enabling our teams to be the best that they can be, we will provide exceptional healthcare, personally delivered.
North Bristol NHS Trust values all people as individuals. We aim to be an anti-discriminatory organisation and are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. We welcome applicants from all underrepresented groups.
