Clinical Nurse Lead (Maternity Cover)

Reports to: Home Care Registered Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Lead to join our Home Care service on a maternity cover contract. This is a key leadership role at the heart of our operations, supporting high-quality, safe, and compliant care delivery across the community.
You will take ownership of clinical coordination, complex client assessments, complaints management, and staff supervision, while ensuring adherence to CQC regulations and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior nurse seeking a varied, hands-on role with real impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the clinical operations of our Home Care service
* Conduct assessments, re-assessments, reviews, and spot checks for complex community-based clients
* Act as the first point of contact for clinical concerns and complaints, ensuring they are logged, investigated, and resolved within agreed timescales
* Maintain full compliance with CQC regulations, internal policies, and best clinical practice
* Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, up to date, and shared appropriately with healthcare professionals
* Support, supervise, and manage community nursing and care staff, including non-clinical colleagues
* Deliver training and refresher training to carers to maintain high care standards
* Liaise with healthcare providers, local authorities, safeguarding teams, and private clients
* Escalate complex care and safeguarding issues appropriately, including Coroner’s Court reports and hearings when required
* Attend safeguarding and local resolution meetings and prepare accurate documentation
* Support corporate governance through reporting and analysis
* Travel to branches and community locations as required
Essential Requirements
* Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
* Strong understanding of clinical practice within home care, social care, ICB, or private healthcare settings
* Excellent knowledge of CQC complaint procedures and safeguarding processes
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
* Confident working independently and under pressure
* High level of IT and administrative system competence
* Commercial awareness and a professional, solution-focused approach
* Punctual, reliable, and committed to agreed working hours
* Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance
