What You’ll Be Doing
* Designing, developing and maintaining modern software applications across secure environments
* Collaborating with engineers, architects and delivery teams to create scalable, high-quality solutions
* Developing robust backend services and APIs using a range of programming languages
* Working with containerisation technologies to support efficient deployment and consistent environments
* Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automation to improve software delivery processes
* Applying software engineering best practices to produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code
* Participating in code reviews and technical discussions to drive continuous improvement
* Supporting technology selection decisions by evaluating tools, frameworks and development approaches
* Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and applying innovative thinking to technical challenges
Main Skills Needed
* Commercial experience in software engineering or a strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
* Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative software development practices
* Backend development experience using technologies such as Java, Python or Go
* Solid understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms and data structures
* Experience working with Docker and container-based development environments
* Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
* Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
* Exposure to Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies
* Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and DevSecOps principles
* Knowledge of web application security best practices
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
* Curious mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies and solve complex problems
* Exposure to Rust would be advantageous
