Overall Purpose of Role
To undertake Site Installation, Commissioning, Training, Handover and Start‑up activities with a predominant focus on the Controls aspect, observing best practice in Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental factors to ensure our customers have the best experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake Site Installation, Commissioning, Training, Handover and Start‑up activities on a project‑by‑project basis.
* Manage and undertake problem solving and troubleshooting with Controls issues across all site installations.
* Understand control systems and associated documentation such as FDS, SDS and basic electrical drawings while commissioning system equipment on site.
* Provide remote support to customers and other commissioning engineers where needed.
* Professionally report project installation progress and current status to internal and external stakeholders.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders—Project Managers, Engineering, Sales, Operations—to satisfy project needs and deliver the project benefits.
* Maintain (and action) agreed site “punch lists” to satisfy project requirements.
* Liaise with customers on site to complete the full scope of work.
* Report any issues with product design or installation to internal relevant owners.
* Maintain a “Site Diary” detailing activities and key events during the course of the project.
* Complete a thorough and detailed Commissioning/Handover Report upon project completion.
* Ensure weekly timesheets & expenses are submitted in a timely manner and before cut‑off dates.
* Attend site in a professional manner at all times.

Skills & Abilities
* Deep understanding of system architecture, network connections and interfaces primarily EthernetIP and Profinet.
* Expert knowledge of PLC software (Allen Bradley and Siemens at a minimum) and ability to fault‑find.
* Ability to understand and modify PLC and HMI software.
* Familiarity with MES and SCADA systems.
* Ability to work under pressure and problem‑solve while maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
* Possesses strong customer‑facing and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge & Qualifications
* Electrical/controls Engineering degree, HND or equivalent.
* Proven Engineering Experience Gained Within the Process Industry.
* Experience with both European and US Hazardous area applications (ATEX) is an advantage, but training can be provided.
Location & Travel Requirements
Matcon Head Office, Evesham, Worcestershire, UK. Travel to customer sites will be required, approximately up to 75%.
