Thermoforming Shift Manager Location: Haydock, Northwest England Salary: Starting from £37,000 per annum (subject to experience), reviewed after 6 months Hours: Continental Shifts (4 on, 4 off 2 x 12-hour days, 2 x 12-hour nights, 4 rest days) Contract: Full-time, permanent About the Role: We are seeking a Thermoforming Shift Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the thermoforming production line during designated shifts. Youll manage a team of machine operators and production staff, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met. This role will suit someone with strong leadership skills, solid technical knowledge of thermoforming or plastics manufacturing, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support production staff, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement. Production Management: Coordinate production activities to meet targets, optimize machine settings, and minimize downtime. Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control measures, inspect finished products, and address root causes of defects. Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety, deliver training, and ensure adherence to industry regulations. Communication & Reporting: Collaborate with other departments, report on performance, and maintain clear communication across shifts. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred). 35 years supervisory or management experience in thermoforming, plastics manufacturing, or FMCG. Strong technical knowledge of thermoforming processes and equipment. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of Health & Safety best practices and compliance standards. IT literacy (Microsoft Office, production management systems). Desirable: Direct experience with thermoforming or vacuum forming. Working knowledge of PET & PP materials. Health & Safety management qualification. First Aid certification.
