An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced cardiac practitioner with a specialist interest in Structural cardiology. We are looking for a Band or above who is motivated and enthusiastic for maternity cover.
Structural cardiology is a growing service and the OUH has recently invested in expansion of the team to accommodate this growth, and develop the patient pathway further. The post holder will work with the senior nursing team to develop patient services, along with consultant cardiologists and MDT colleagues. They will be, or be working towards becoming an autonomous practitioner, and will participate in clinics and ward rounds for the structural service, as well as providing remote support for this patient group.
Main duties of the job
Fulfil the expectations and core capabilities of an ACP/ specialist nurse as set out in the HEE Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England (or other recognised service specific credential), delivering clinical practice across the four pillars of advanced practice, with commitment to a culture of life-long learning and continuous professional development, through engagement with clinical supervision.
Work in partnership with patients, families and members of the multi-disciplinary team, to best meet the needs and wellbeing of the patient, delivering high quality evidence-based care within structural cardiology.
The nurse will be expected to deliver and facilitate practice across the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice: namely Clinical, Leadership and Management, Education and Research
The nurse will work as part of a team to coordinate patients referred to the structural service, including organisation of investigations, preparation and planning of the multi-disciplinary team meeting, and planning structural intervention lists. The post holder will be responsible for the management of structural patients on the ward before and after their procedures, including ward rounds and nurse-led discharge. The post holder will pre-assess and follow up patients in the outpatient clinic and provide telephone support and guidance.
