The Role We are the Environment Agency, and working in partnership with government, local authorities, businesses, and communities we tackle the impacts of climate change and manage the assets that protect Central London from flooding. This role sits within the core security team at the Thames Barrier. You will help deliver and continuously improve the administration of internal security and risk across our assets in a complex and demanding environment, assessing risks to the Thames Tidal Defences to protect our staff, critical infrastructure, and the public we serve. Purpose of the Role Delivery of personnel security vetting on behalf of Thames Tidal Defences Development and delivery of security measures, security induction and training Financial management of key contracts and team spending Adoption and implementation of security controls with input from internal and external stakeholders Key Responsibilities Provide personnel security vetting advice and guidance in relation to National Security Vetting, management process, residency, clearance status, etc Manage all new vetting applications in liaison with the government security clusters Effective communications of policies, processes and guidance to internal staff and contractors alike Improve and maintain security culture across employees and contractors Contribute to the effective planning and delivery of security contracts You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a suitable level of security clearance and must have been resident within the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
