Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £45,000 (including shift allowance)

Our client, an innovative and growing company, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Gloucester. This role offers the chance to work in dynamic industries such as aerospace, defence, and high-performance automotive. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth factory operations by handling material movement, general housekeeping, and maintaining industrial equipment in a 24/5 operation. As part of a versatile, multi-skilled team, you will tackle both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to keep the facility running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer
* Service and troubleshoot electrical systems, including single-phase and 3-phase motors, pumps, gearboxes, and PLCs.
* Carry out mechanical maintenance on systems involving pneumatics, bearings, valves, chains, boilers, CNC routers, and water jets.
* Provide proactive and reactive maintenance to ensure equipment operates at peak performance.
* Work collaboratively to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational targets.
* Support equipment installations and modifications as required.
* Engage with subcontractors and external suppliers.
* Maintain tools and equipment to required standards.
* Adhere to waste management protocols and champion 5S best practices.
* Perform dynamic risk assessments before starting any task.
Qualifications & Requirements – Maintenance Engineer
* Time-served engineer with City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in maintenance or engineering.
* At least 4 years of practical experience with mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and cranes.
* Experience with steam and thermal boiler systems.
* Working knowledge of PLCs and process plant equipment in heavy engineering settings.
* 18th Edition electrical qualification.
* BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) certification.
* IPAF Licence (for powered access equipment).
