We are seeking a Logistics Manager to support our UK operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in logistics within an international trading company, with knowledge in metals or chemicals.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide commercial support to the Sales Team.
2. Create Purchase Orders and Sales Contracts.
3. Record offers, negotiations, and follow up on deliveries post-order placement.
4. Review stock availability and plan timely shipments for replenishment.
5. Review final commodity price calculations.
6. Conduct quarterly order book assessments with relevant sales teams.
7. Manage and monitor credit line exposure and ensure punctual payment collection.
8. Assist in completing paperwork and shipping documentation, including Bill of Lading, CMR, AWB, Packing Lists.
9. Follow up on deliveries and check paperwork for inbound and outbound orders, including import/export formalities and customs clearance documents.
10. Maintain the electronic filing system for administrative documentation.
11. Interact with third-party logistics providers.
12. Coordinate with warehouse staff and overseas offices to ensure effective inventory management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in international trade and administration or equivalent industry experience.
2. Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams.
3. Proactive attitude and problem-solving skills.
Supply Chain Knowledge:
1. Thorough knowledge of Incoterms (CIF, DAP, DDP, FOB, etc.).
2. Knowledge of planning techniques and geographical knowledge of Europe is a plus.
3. Understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
4. Knowledge of shipping documents and transport regulations.
5. Experience with UK imports, especially metals or chemicals, is highly desirable.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with ERP systems and additional European languages are advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 days per week in the office (Weybridge, Surrey).
2. Reside within 5-10 miles of the office preferred.
3. Ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
4. Must have experience importing physical commodities or chemicals into the UK post-Brexit, preferably metals-related.
