Role Overview
Your role: As a Craft Gardener, you will play a key role in delivering a high standard grounds maintenance service across the borough. You will support the Team Leader with the effective delivery of day-to-day grounds and general horticultural maintenance operations. You will assist in work planning and cover the Team Leader in their absence. Providing exceptional customer service, you will be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Council when working in the borough. You will lead by example, motivate others, and actively seek ways to improve the service.
Candidate Requirements
* Knowledge and experience in grounds maintenance or similar environment, with the ability to operate relevant plant and machinery.
* Qualification in horticulture, greenkeeping, groundskeeping, or arboriculture (e.g., City and Guilds 3, NVQ Level 3) or equivalent experience.
* Herbicide Application qualification (PA1, PA2 & PA6AW) or demonstrated knowledge and experience.
* Relevant Health & Safety knowledge and experience.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to apply health and safety knowledge and be well-organized.
