The Opportunity
Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our Park Hyatt London River Thames team. As Sous Chef for Magic Table you will play a pivotal role in bringing our new immersive dining experience to life. Magic Table is an immersive 3D dining experience where each table is transformed into a captivating storyteller, guided by the guest’s personal choices. Making its London debut at the exclusive Tamisé, this one-of-a-kind event features world-renowned magicians Thommy Ten & Amélie van Tass. Working hours for this position are Wednesday to Sunday 3pm to 10pm.
* Kitchen Leadership Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations across all sections.
* Menu Execution & Quality Control Ensure dishes are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and timing.
* Inventory & Cost Management Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and help manage food costs and waste reduction.
* Training & Development Mentor junior chefs and apprentices, fostering skill development and maintaining morale.
* Health & Safety Compliance Enforce hygiene standards, food safety protocols, and kitchen cleanliness in line with HACCP or local regulations.
* Problem Solving & Decision-Making Step in during service disruptions, resolve conflicts, and make quick decisions under pressure.
* Collaboration with Head Chef Assist in menu planning, specials creation, and operational strategy.

Who You Are

Experience Required:
* You will have proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a luxury hotel or high-end culinary environment.
* Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP compliance
* Exposure to menu development
* Proven ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and maintain kitchen discipline
* Committed to delivering the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation, while balancing creativity with operational and financial goals.
Experience Preferred:
* Formal culinary training or diploma
* Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and adapt to changing menus or guest preferences
* Proven work experience or exposure to London-based hotels, with knowledge of UK hospitality standards, local compliance (e.g., Food Hygiene Rating Scheme), and service expectations for international guests.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
