Overview
Support Worker – Adult Services at Autism Anglia, Peldon Campus, Colchester, Essex. This is a role for supporting autistic adults and those with learning disabilities to develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
Location: Peldon Campus, Church Road, Colchester, CO5 7PT
Salary: £24,019.54 per annum full time equivalent (£12.45 per hour)
Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week (overtime available) and part-time from 26 hours per week
Eligibility: Please note, we do not offer sponsorships; candidates must have the eligibility to work in the UK.
About The Role
* Work in partnership with the team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
* Maintain the dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of each individual, assisting with personal care, health, and hygiene.
* Support individuals in activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day trips, and holidays.
* Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions.
* Ensure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needs.
* Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader, preferably with autism or learning disabilities.
* Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
* Ability to identify and support the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals with communication needs.
* Experience in providing intensive behavioural support.
* Strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area.
