Job Overview
We are looking to appoint a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker for the Cynnydd Ward, an 8 bedded ward that provides recovery‑focused care to patients with complex and enduring mental health needs. The role is open only to staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
The successful candidate will support patients in achieving their individual recovery plans, deliver evidence‑based nursing care and work closely with the multi‑disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Complete physical observations.
* Conduct therapeutic nursing observations.
* Implement each individual’s care plan.
* Supervise patient activities within the hospital and in the community setting.
* Support clients throughout their recovery journey.
Qualifications – Essential
* Previous experience within a mental health setting.
* Willingness to undertake an NVQ Level 3 in mental health care provision, or currently working towards this level.
* Ability and fitness to undertake physical intervention training.
* Availability to work shift rotations, including days and nights.
* Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Flexibility to adapt to organisational and unit changes.
* Welsh speaking ability.
* Knowledge of recovery principles for individuals with mental health problems.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
* Licensed to drive trust vehicles.
* Flexibility to support the ward’s clinical needs.
