About The Division
The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland's water and wastewater challenges. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations, preventing urban flooding, and improving the health of our rivers and coastal environments. Our multidisciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design.
Overview Of The Role
We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example:
* Water treatment
* Water distribution and storage
* Wastewater drainage and recycling
* Desalination
Our clients include most UK water utility companies and many governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas. We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover, providing diverse and technically challenging work and supporting professional development.
Responsibilities
To help us meet the growing needs of our clients, we have several positions for experienced civil engineers in water and wastewater who will thrive:
* Working across multiple UK and Ireland water companies
* Being part of multidisciplinary design teams in project delivery
* Delivering excellence everyday
* Preparing design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements
* Undertaking studies, concept, preliminary and detailed design
* Collaborating with clients and other stakeholders
Candidate specification
Essential:
* Civil engineering degree
* Water and/or wastewater engineering design experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety and environmental issues
* Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
Desirable:
* Working towards Chartership
* Strong digital capability
* Project management experience or a desire to develop these skills
