As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with your commercial line manager and operational colleagues to manage all commercial aspects of our new M5 J10 highways scheme in Cheltenham. You will be responsible for managing the commercial administration, reporting and performance on the project. Report to the business unit Commercial Director.
Responsibilities
* Create and maintain a safe working environment.
* Act as Project Commercial Lead for contract administration.
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
* Produce and negotiate subcontract documentation, including terms, prices, and schedules.
* Manage subcontract works, interim assessments, and change management.
* Issue commercial notices to Clients and Subcontractors as per contract requirements.
* Manage timely change processes, including Compensation Event Quotations.
* Produce and submit monthly applications to the Client per the contract.
* Ensure site records meet required standards in collaboration with operational and engineering teams.
* Generate detailed reports, cost plans, and reconciliations; track and forecast expenditures using Oracle-based systems.

Qualifications
* Strong understanding of standard forms of contract.
* Advanced IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
* Solid knowledge of construction processes and project management.
* First-class time and outcome management skills.
* Proven leadership and management expertise, with a track record of developing individuals.
* Experience in negotiation, final account settlement, and working towards professional qualifications (MCIOB, MRICS).
