Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
•Lead the Primary School with clarity, purpose, and compassion, ensuring every child is known, supported, and inspired.
•Collaborate with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to shape and implement the school’s strategic plan.
•Embed the school’s values and vision in all aspects of Primary School life.
•Align the Junior School with whole-school priorities, ensuring strong curriculum continuity, transition, and shared culture with the Senior School.
•Use data, self-evaluation, and stakeholder feedback to identify and deliver meaningful school improvement initiatives.
•Oversee curriculum design and development across FS and Key Stages 1–2, ensuring breadth, balance, and inclusivity.
•Lead and support a dynamic team of Deputy and Assistant Heads, Phase Leaders, and teachers with trust, clarity, and respect.
Requirements
•Significant and successful leadership experience in a primary or junior setting
•Proven record of leading school improvement and managing change
•Deep understanding of the English National Curriculum
•Inspirational communicator and leader with emotional intelligence and humility
•Strong organisational and administrative skills
•Understanding of the EYFS framework and transition into Key Stage 1
•Collaborative, empathetic, and able to build strong professional relationships
•Passionate about children’s learning, wellbeing, and character development
•Skilled in curriculum design and innovation
•Confident in using data to inform planning and decision-making
•Experienced in developing and leading high-performing teams
Key Accountabilities
•Member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Chair of the Primary School ELT
•Reports directly to the Principal
•Responsible for safeguarding, operational management, and academic and pastoral standards in the Primary School
•Line manages Primary School Deputy Heads, Assistant Heads, and Phase Leaders
•Represents the Primary School in governor meetings and whole-school forums as required
Desirable Attributes
•Experience in international schools
•Familiarity with KHDA or similar regulatory bodies
•Experience leading a Junior School with transition into a Senior School setting
