Responsibilities

* Lead the service day to day, ensuring safe, consistent and high‑quality care for older people while driving standards, stability and performance across the team.
* Take full responsibility for the leadership and operation of the service, including:
o Leading, managing and developing the team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.
o Taking ownership of recruitment, supervision, performance management and workforce planning.
o Managing budgets, staffing levels and resources with a strong focus on efficiency and quality.
o Ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and best practice.
o Setting clear expectations and maintaining consistent standards across the service.
o Building effective relationships with families, professionals and external partners.
o Working closely with senior leaders to drive improvement and service development.


Qualifications and Experience

• An experienced Service Manager or a confident Deputy ready to step up, with a clear track record of leading teams within a care home environment.
• Hold an SVQ Level 4 in Social Care and an H&SC LMC Award or equivalent, in line with SSSC requirements.
• Management experience within a care home setting is essential for this role.
• Ability to manage staffing pressures, maintain standards and lead through challenge; organised, accountable and capable of making decisions that support both residents and staff.
• Confident using digital systems and Microsoft Office, and able to manage budgets, staffing and operational priorities effectively.
• Must be registered with the SSSC, or willing to register, and be a member of the PVG Scheme or willing to join.

Legal and Ethical Requirements

• The role requires a Christian faith and the ability to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos – an occupational requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.
• Post requires membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and the necessary vetting checks.
• Must be registered with SSSC and meet the standards and criteria for registration.
• Must have the necessary permission to work in the UK, as required by UK Visas and Immigration proceedings.
