Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading operator of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Stations, to recruit for an Outage Planning Engineer to work across their fleet of power stations located in Lincolnshire, Kent, West Sussex and Kent. You can be based at any of these locations.
The vital Outage Planning Engineer role comes with a basic salary of £67,000 - £71,000 + up to 30% bonus + overtime + LTIP + Private Medical + £2,100 south east allowance (if based at their southern location plants) other excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Outage Planning Engineer role
Reporting to the Group Mechanical Engineering Manager you will:
Lead planning and execution of a variety of projects ensuring all measured KPIs are successfully achieved
Be the main interface to ensure the company's outage best practise document is adhered to with all milestone targets being achieved
Working closely with individual site outage managers and support function key representatives
Working closely with key subcontractors to ensure project programs are reflective of works and can be integrated to overall project programs
Ad-hoc and emergency projects are subject to all normal planning requirements ensuring a safe and efficient project is delivered
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
A minimum HNC qualification in an engineering discipline
A UK Driving Licence is a necessity given the nature of the role
Personal skills and experience
The Outage Planning Engineer role would suit someone who has:
Prior experience working on rotating plant (gas/steam turbines) or static equipment (industrial steam boilers) in a heavy process engineering environment such as Power Generation, Refinery, Oil & Gas, Steel, Paper Mills, etc
Good knowledge of legislation such as PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, CDM regulations, etc.
Experience with budgets and contract management
The ability to handle multiple work projects running together.
Good knowledge of planning tools/systems such as Maximo, Primavera, SAI 360, etc
