The Organization
Global Family Care Network is a non‑profit organization that works to prevent and intercept child trafficking and systematic abuse and provide long‑term and family‑based care for children who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation and other forms of abuse. Our mission is to preserve the family and protect at‑risk children with the assistance of community organisations, volunteer caregivers, and donors. Our vision is to help as many children as possible who are victims of poverty, exploitation, and abuse by modelling and sharing principled methods that represent the best possible outcome.
Collectively, our model projects are active in nine countries with 304 global team members. We have reported the following outcomes over the last ten years:
* 166,447 participating in prevention clubs being educated about trafficking and child sexual abuse and empowered to protect themselves
* 1,301 victims of trafficking and exploitation cared for in our shelters
* 1,582 children restored back home with their families
Global Family UK is focused on:
* The training and resourcing of individuals working in the prevention of human trafficking, rehabilitation and reintegration of victims of commercial sexual exploitation, and community‑based approaches to protect children and preserve families
* Research and development of innovative, best practice, and alternative interventions to combating human trafficking and other forms of modern‑day slavery, family‑based services for children who lack biological support and who have been abandoned and/or systematically abused, and community‑based development
* Monitoring and evaluation of Global Family’s global programs (currently active in nine countries)
Overview
The UK Lead Coordinator will lead and manage activities of St. James Research Centre (SJRC) located in Falkirk, Scotland. He/she will oversee all Global Family and St. James staff, report to the Board of Directors of Global Family Care Network (SCIO), and ensure the day‑to‑day operation of the centre.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary spokesperson for the organisation and seek opportunities to advance its name, mission, needs, successes, and overall objectives
* Foster and cultivate church and other local partnerships with respect to prevention and mentoring/aftercare activities.
* Develop and cultivate relationships with the business and community to encourage support and advocacy for children’s rights.
* Assist the Executive Director in overseeing the lead team (communication, fundraising, and grant writing for local and international projects).
* Coordinate with the administrative team to schedule and prepare for quarterly Board of Director meetings.
* Plan, prepare, and analyse budgets for the Board of Directors and appraise them of major details, policy needs and other major projects and developments on an ongoing basis
* Recruit, train and provide career coaching, growth, and personal development for UK program and administrative staff.
* Assist SJRC’s director and the GF team in developing and updating courses, facilitating research collaboration, lead a Global Studies internship and coordinate summer study abroad university partnerships.
* Ensure that academic provisions are being provided at high academic standards.
* Fulfill all responsibilities as determined by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Skills
We are looking for someone who is passionate about community‑based development; can effectively communicate over email and by phone with colleagues; can create, implement, and manage timelines for research projects; and has significant qualitative and quantitative research experience. The UK Lead Coordinator must be a person who has proven him/herself in leadership and must be highly qualified. He/she should have a master’s degree (PhD preferred) and experience in a related field and be comfortable leading in a faith‑based environment.
