Job Opportunity: Tax Manager, Employment tax and share schemes Kent, Competitive salary and benefits
Goldhawk Associates are currently supporting a Top 20 Firm based in Kent that is looking to appoint an Employment Tax Manager to work in our Kent office tax team. Working closely with the tax partners and directors and will manage the delivery of employment taxes and share scheme work to their Kent client base which ranges from family businesses, entrepreneurial and innovative small and medium businesses to quoted groups. You should be qualified ACA/CTA (or equivalent) with relevant, practical employment tax /share scheme experience. You will be expected to use your initiative and work as part of a team, liaising with other tax specialists, audit and corporate finance colleagues.
You will be responsible for developing and managing the employment tax relationship with clients. Leading work and being actively involved in the provision of advisory projects to clients (both proactively and reactively), including clients of other departments and offices. Reporting directly to tax partners and directors you will be required to identify opportunities to take additional services to clients and contacts. Working as a manager you will lead and support business development initiatives and take responsibility for the financial performance of your client /project work.
Your role:
-Working on a variety of compliance, tax advisory, structuring, project based, and transaction work, including due diligence work and the preparation of reports
-You will also be working on business development initiatives and working with the team to generate new work
-Managing the team and supporting their development, mentoring, and training
-You will engage in employment tax /share scheme experience on a range of compliance and advisory projects
Ability to deliver general employment tax consultancy advice in areas such as:
1. Employment status of workers / IR35
2. Employment related securities (ERS) advice
3. Share scheme advice, including EMI scheme set-up advice
4. Due diligence work
5. Employer compliance reviews, internal audits, or health check work
6. Class 1A NIC and P11D reporting
7. Expenses and benefits tax treatment
8. PAYE Settlement Agreements
9. Remuneration planning – previous exposure to bonus, share scheme, and salary sacrifice planning is desirable
10. Construction Industry Scheme
11. Termination payments
12. Assisting clients with the preparation of various statutory forms, including P11D’s, share schemes, and ERS compliance reporting
13. You will be responsible for billing for your work, balancing the requirement to maximise recovery and considering and managing risk in all interactions with clients
