Qualified Social Worker - Children and Young People

We are a nationally recognised provider of expert education and care for children and young people aged 2 to 25 who have the most complex needs and learning difficulties, including sensory impairments, communication disorders, and autism. Our services are based on a single site in Cheadle, fostering a strong sense of community.
We are looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker, ideally with a background in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting, to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
In this vital role, you will work closely with the Head of Safeguarding to execute the Safeguarding Development and Improvement plan. You will be:
Leading complex case work for both our children and young adults, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and carers.
Making safeguarding your absolute priority, effectively evaluating risk and protective factors to mitigate and manage cases.
Delivering projects and initiatives to strengthen safeguarding knowledge across staff teams and service user groups.
Providing support and training to staff, families, and carers.
Upholding the Social Work England Professional Standards with integrity and respect.
Mentoring and guiding Social Work students on placement.
What You'll Need
Qualified Social Worker with a professional Social Work qualification (Degree or DipSW) — Essential.
Experience in a social care, education, or health setting, executing safeguarding duties in line with relevant legislation.
Proven experience of safeguarding case work with children, adults at risk, and families.
Experience with Mental Capacity Act 2005 assessment and best interest procedures.
Demonstrable working knowledge of statutory safeguarding procedures for children and adults (evidenced by relevant CPD/qualifications).
Previous experience of managing complex case work and engaging effectively with multi-disciplinary professionals.
Ability to build professional relationships and set high standards for practice decisions.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
