Main Purpose:
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a supportive and ambitious school in Poole that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant. You will play a key role in helping pupils succeed both academically and personally by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Learning Support
* Support pupils' learning through targeted interventions and small-group work.
* Encourage student independence and self-confidence while maintaining high academic standards.
* Promote inclusive classroom practice by encouraging collaboration among students.
* Work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to assess needs and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Adapt classroom resources to meet the needs of EAL and SEND students.
* Support follow-up from external services such as speech and language or occupational therapy.
* Provide 1:1 mentoring and deliver booster/intervention sessions for targeted learning areas.
* Record observations and feedback on student progress.
* Help prepare teaching materials and support classroom displays.
* Assist with whole-class activities and behaviour management strategies.
* Support learning beyond the classroom in areas such as libraries or ICT suites.
Support for the School
* Supervise pupils during non-classroom times including breaks and lunchtimes.
* Provide general pastoral support to students.
* Assist with school trips and out-of-school learning experiences, ensuring student safety and wellbeing under teacher supervision.
