Overview
7 Force Commercial Services – Supplier Relationship Manager – Operations and Community Services, working for Cambridgeshire Constabulary. Location: Dependent on applicant’s location, can be based anywhere across the 7 Forces. Employment type: Permanent, Full Time. Salary: £53,667 with Market Rate Supplement £4000.
This role is a unique opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to join the Supplier Relationship Management team within the commercial function, supporting the 7 police forces across the east of England (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, and Suffolk). The collaboration manages third-party spend of approximately £250m per annum, contributing to regional savings, market shaping, and wider social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Responsibilities
You will develop and manage the commercial relationship with a designated portfolio of strategic suppliers to ensure value for money across the 7 Forces. You will lead and/or support complex commercial negotiations with key suppliers, promote innovation, and secure best value. You will address and enforce sanctions for poor performance and assist in defending the Forces from contractual claims. You will engage internal stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and drive an integrated commercial and contract management function across the seven forces. You will also support supplier performance management and risk mitigation across the portfolio.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential criteria include MCIPS Level 6 or demonstrated equivalent experience as a commercially focused procurement professional in a complex public sector organisation. Significant knowledge of current contract law and the application of EU Public Procurement Regulations and legislation is required. You should have strong commercial acumen, proven supplier relationship management experience, and a track record in negotiations and resolving contractual disputes. You must possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

* Good organisational, time management, and project management skills to meet deadlines.
* Willingness and ability to travel across the UK as required.
