Senior Bridging Specialist - Fleet Salary: As a Senior Bridging Specialist you will be assessing the risk and underwriting both personal and limited company bridging and buy to let mortgage applications. Requirement to adhere to rules set out within the credit framework, as well as adhere to compliance and regulatory policy and procedures.
The servicing and collections element they will be responsible for the managing of customer accounts throughout the loan lifecycle, with particular focus on arrears management, collections and servicing. You will play a key role in protecting the Bank’s loan book performance, minimising losses and delivering fair customer outcomes.
Analyse and interpret any documentation required (credit bureau, payslips, bank statements, accounts, mortgage statements, assets & liabilities, business plans) to comply with lending policy and protect our interest.
Assess the commercial risk of bridging lending applications across multiple asset classes and make recommendations on cases outside of current lending criteria.
Provide guidance to customers, brokers, and solicitors on bridging applications, lending policy, and internal processes and procedures all within a timely manner.
Demonstrate a good understanding of mortgages as a whole and underwriting within a specialist lending environment and application of the Lending Policy.
Have a good understanding of all regulatory requirements relating to both personal and Limited Company mortgages.
Proactively progress cases through all stages of the mortgage process; Act as first point of contact for borrowers regarding loan servicing queries, payments and account management
Process borrower requests in line with policy (e.g. changes to repayment arrangements, settlement figures, term extensions).
Monitor loan accounts to identify arrears at an early stage and proactively engage with customers to agree a suitable repayment solution.
Ensure all collection activities are undertaken in line with regulatory obligations.
Escalate cases where litigation, enforcement, or recovery action may be required. Experience of working in a mortgage/loan servicing and collections function.
A good understanding of mortgages /underwriting with ability to use judgement, balancing commercial risk & opportunity.
Up-to-date knowledge of FCA /PRA and all relevant regulatory mortgage requirements
