We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a Legal law firm based in the heart of Liverpool. They are family-friendly, flexible, and committed to helping all staff reach their full potential. The firm is looking to grow their highly regarded criminal team and invite candidates to join this exciting challenge.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with an enthusiastic, committed, and tenacious team, managing their own busy caseload of criminal and POCA matters from instruction to conclusion. This role offers the chance to develop your expertise, make a real impact for clients, and grow within a supportive and professional environment.

Responsibilities
5. Handle a mixed caseload of privately and publicly funded work
6. Work on all types of criminal offences
7. Advise and represent clients in the Magistrates Court
8. Manage and run your full caseload, ensuring files are compliant
9. Draft statements, client letters, and briefs for counsel
10. Conduct client conferences in person and via video
11. Instruct experts as required
12. Represent clients at the police station and join the firm’s out-of-hours on-call rota
13. Maintain high standards of professionalism and attention to detail
The Candidate
14. Qualified solicitor with criminal law experience; police station accreditation essential, duty solicitor status preferred but not required
15. Legal Aid supervisor or willing to obtain supervisor status
16. Excellent communicator, able to explain complex matters clearly
17. Highly organised, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
18. Personable, professional, and client-focused
19. Full, clean driving licence and access to a car
20. Comfortable working both remotely and in the office
21. POCA experience preferred but not essential
22. Flexible to assist in other departments if needed
