What will you be doing?The Senior Subsea Structural Engineer will provide engineering skills to the Structures discipline. Compliance with project plans, relevant engineering standards and contractual obligations are required. The Senior Subsea Structural Engineer will work as part of a team but may have responsibility for discrete work packages.Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of subsea structures engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice, including supporting other engineering disciplines within Subsea7.Provides skills and knowledge in key areas of Structural engineering including Flowline Structures and Installation Aids/Sea-fastening Design.Works as part of the project team, supporting the Principal/Lead Engineer in performing engineering for project delivery.Evaluates, organises and prioritises work which is subject to internal checking and approval.Undertakes design and engineering activities associated with Subsea Structure Design – including calculations, analysis, reports, detailed drawings (GA & Fabrication), concept development/selection and ownership of material take off.Originates and approves technical deliverables, accepting personal responsibility for its adequacy ensuring compliance with codes, standards and client specifications for approval by a Lead Engineer.Identifies project opportunities, raising them to the required personnel.Skilled in identifying technical clarifications, originating technical queries and deviation requests.Provide regular feedback to the project/discipline lead engineer on workload and requests for additional support if required.Ensure full traceability of the technical development of the assigned scope throughout the life of the project.Ensure engineering performed is effective and quality driven.Participate in knowledge sharing, capture of Lessons Learned and application of Engineering Standards.Ensures all relevant safety objectives are adhered to.Supports the development of Junior engineers.Work in collaboration with our alliance partners where appropriate. Maintain communication with the Structures deputy discipline manager, in combination with project leads and senior engineers where appropriate.What experience would we like you to have?Relevant engineering experience within the Oil and Gas industry, specifically in subsea structural design and analysisFamiliarity of industry codes (API, AISC, DNV), standards and design guidelinesAdvanced knowledge in the use of 3D Finite Element Analysis for the design of subsea components such as Mudmat, YOKE, Anchor Flanges, Bulkheads etcDeliver structural analysis work on projectAbility to support package engineering and managementProvide structural engineering support to the execution of multi-discipline projects, Business Acquisition and FEED study executionEfficient use of the following software, STAAD Pro, FS2000 and ANSYS or similarProficient communication, collaboration skills, both written and verbalSkilled with up-to-date computer applications including MS Word, Excel and Mathcad.Ability to solve complex technical problemsNoted for consistent efficiency in previous/current employmentDesirable Experience, Skills And KnowledgeDegree qualified, preferably in Structural/Civil Engineering or equivalentExtensive years of practical industrial experience (post Graduate scheme or equivalent) in relevant industryExperience in grillage and sea fastening design of structures and other transported itemsExperience of either offshore support or within fabrication yardsMembership to a relevant professional bodyEngineering experience within the Subsea industry (EPC/EPCI previous experience advantageous)Familiarity with recognised industry engineering software
