Job Introduction
We are seeking a Band 6 SCPHN School Nurse to join our scheme in East Lancashire on a full‑time basis. You will promote health and well‑being for children and young people, providing essential care and supporting their development. Working with the local child and family wellbeing services gives you visibility and the chance to influence decisions at the senior level.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the Healthy Child Programme, assessing health needs and developing, implementing and evaluating care packages.
* Use the Family Health Needs Assessment tool to plan and evidence care.
* Devise and implement individualised care plans for each child, involving the child/parent/carer/family.
* Participate in effective partnership working with other agencies and take a lead professional role where appropriate.
* Use evidence‑based practice to maintain a high‑quality, cost‑effective standard for specialist public health nurse/ school nursing practice.
* Mentor pre‑registration and SCPHN students and provide preceptorship to new staff, supported by the Practice Education team and safeguarding supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified or due to qualify as a SCPHN School Nurse, committed to ensuring children in Lancashire have the best possible start.
* A passion for driving positive change for children and families, and a desire to use the HCRG Care Group platform to suggest innovative improvements.
* A valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes across central Lancashire (accommodations available for those without a licence).
