Contract Terms:
* Day Rate: £500- £600 per day
* IR35 Status: Outside of IR35
* Location: UK&I (Hybrid working available; occasional travel may be required)
* Contract Length: 3 months initially.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced professional to join the Technology Function Leadership Team on a contract basis, leading the Cyber Security and Data capability. This strategic role, part of Running Great Restaurant Technology (RGRT), will be responsible for:
• Overseeing a broad range of technical and process security controls while driving a programme of continuous improvement in response to evolving security threats and risks.
• Delivering a UK&I market and globally aligned Cyber Security and Data Strategy and operating model.
• Providing expert advice and direction to the Technology senior leadership team and broader organisation to integrate security practices into strategic and operational processes.
This postion will involve regular interaction with functional leadership and, on occasion, Franchisees. The successful contractor will contribute to leadership initiatives, plans, and roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide interim leadership within the RGRT and broader Technology teams to foster a high-performing culture.
• Deliver and maintain a business-aligned Information and Cyber Security strategy and operating model.
• Ensure technology GDPR compliance and support escalation processes in collaboration with the UK&I Legal team.
• Collaborate with other lead markets and the Global Risk function to embed relevant policies and frameworks.
• Mentor team members and support their development planning during the contract term.
• Act as a subject matter expert during Major Incident security events.
• Manage a 24/7 offshore Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC).
• Oversee budgets related to cyber and data TFA accounts, as well as G&A compliance.
• Ensure compliance with IT SOX and PCI DSS audit requirements in the UK&I market.
• Serve as project sponsor for cyber, data, and risk-related initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to PMO processes and governance in all project work.
• Manage third-party risk and vendor relationships to support innovation and security.
• Represent UK&I in external security and risk forums and networks.
• Ensure alignment with global cyber security practices and standards.
• Support data enablement projects and provide consultancy on enterprise initiatives.
• Assist the Director of Technology in shaping forward-looking plans and strategies.
• Contribute to broader leadership efforts, including team culture and communications.
Team Structure:
This contract role operates within the RGRT Leadership Team and collaborates closely with the wider UK&I Technology Leadership Team.
Key Stakeholders:
Reporting to the Director of Technology, RGRT, the contractor will work with Department Heads across Global & Segment Risk, Legal, and Cyber/Data management teams. Engagement with Franchisees may also be required.
Required Background:
• Extensive experience in enterprise information security leadership roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cyber/information security, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM, CTPRP, CRISC).
• Proven ability to manage budgets and secure approvals for enterprise-level initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to present complex technical issues in clear, simple formats.
