About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, you will lead and coordinate a broad range of safety-related activities across multiple UK and international sites. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert support and strategic input across the organisation, including to project teams, contractors and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead health and safety initiatives at corporate and operational levels, ensuring robust safety practices across diverse departments and locations.
* Develop, implement and maintain Health & Safety policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and practical applicability to varied operational contexts.
* Conduct audits and inspections to evaluate compliance and deliver recommendations for risk reduction and performance improvement.
* Support safety assurance in complex international projects and during bid processes, contributing to the safe design and delivery of services.
* Act as a key advisor to leadership and contractors, offering clear and practical guidance on daily safety management and risk mitigation strategies.
* Take a lead role in ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations through all phases of project design and construction.
* Provide expert oversight of safety protocols in engineering, estates, and logistics operations.
* Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, Trade Union safety representatives and other key health & safety personnel.
* Engage and coordinate with regional management and construction contractors to promote consistent and effective risk management across all sites.
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in complex environments and can bring proactive leadership to a multi-disciplinary safety role. You’ll be a skilled communicator, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
Essential Requirements
* Significant experience in a Health & Safety role within a complex, multi-site or multi-disciplinary organisation.
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
* Working towards or already holding a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent advanced qualification).
* Sound understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015.
* Strong auditing, risk assessment and policy development skills.
* Ability to obtain and maintain high-level security clearance (UK Citizens only).
