Overview
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Senior Oculoplastic Fellow on a fixed-term contract commencing ASAP. The role offers advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex oculoplastic conditions, with hands-on experience in cataract surgery and national clinical trials under the guidance of expert consultants. The post is based at a leading tertiary centre within a dynamic and supportive team.
Responsibilities
* Provide and contribute to high-quality clinical care in oculoplastic and related ophthalmic subspecialties.
* Engage in diagnosis and management of complex oculoplastic conditions.
* Participate in cataract surgery practice and involvement in national clinical trials.
* Work under the supervision of consultants with opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 6 years of Specialty training.
* Holding a relevant higher specialty exam (e.g., FRCP, FRCA, FRCS).
* A portfolio of evidence demonstrating progression criteria in line with the Curriculum for the specialty.
* Educational framework equivalent to training grade doctors with a named educational supervisor at the start of the post.
* Support for Continued Professional Development (CPD) with study leave options.
