The Role As a Junior Network Engineer, you will support senior engineers in the design, implementation and maintenance of customer networks. You will help ensure reliable network performance, assist in deployments, and contribute to day-to-day operational support while gaining exposure to modern networking technologies and security practices. Key Responsibilities * Assist with troubleshooting and resolving connectivity, hardware and software network issues. * Support the installation, configuration and testing of routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points. * Monitor network performance, highlight inefficiencies and recommend improvements. * Contribute to implementing and maintaining network security measures including firewalls, VPNs and intrusion detection systems. * Help with routine maintenance such as firmware updates, patching and backups. * Maintain accurate documentation of network setups, diagrams and processes. * Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and take part in project planning activities. * Stay updated on evolving network technologies, trends and security threats. About You * A degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). * Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VLANs and subnetting. * Basic exposure to routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP is beneficial. * Understanding of network security concepts, including VPNs, IDS/IPS and encryption. * Confident troubleshooting using monitoring tools or packet analysis. * Clear communication skills and ability to work well within a team. * Certifications such as CCNA or Network are desirable but not essential. * Successful candidates may be required to undergo background checks.
