Supply Chain Analyst - Strategic Inventory & Stock Optimisation
Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Full-Time, Permanent
Salary - £35,000 to £40,000 DOE
Buy It Direct is a leading UK e-commerce retailer. We've built the business from the ground up to become one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing online retailers.
We're looking for a Supply Chain Analyst to join our team and focus on high-level inventory and stock optimisation across all product categories.
This role is not focused on day-to-day SKU management; it's about leveraging data to proactively identify stock risks and facilitate improved decision-making across trading, merchandising, and operations. You will collaborate closely with key teams to ensure product availability, safeguard margins, and alleviate operational pressure.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse stock data at a category level to identify overstock, understock, and ageing stock that could affect margin or warehouse space.
* Monitor inbound stock volumes and highlight risks around warehouse capacity, supplier delays, or overlapping deliveries.
* Use trading plans, promotional calendars, and historical data to forecast demand and support stock planning.
* Identify slow-moving or excess inventory and propose actions to reduce financial exposure.
* Collaborate with commercial, merchandising and operations teams to align inbound supply with warehouse and sales forecasts.
* Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, and SQL to provide visibility into stock health and supply risk.
* Deliver clear, data-led insights to help the business balance availability, cost, and operational efficiency.
KPI Measures
* Stock Availability
* Inventory Turnover
* Aged Inventory
* Forecast Accuracy
* Warehouse Utilisation
* Supplier Lead Time Accuracy
About You
* Experience in supply chain, inventory, or commercial analysis, ideally in retail or e-commerce.
* Skilled in partnering with data analysis or BI teams to specify reporting needs and interpret complex datasets, alongside strong proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and review.
* Clear understanding of the end-to-end supply chain and its impact on commercial and operational performance.
* Able to interpret large datasets and turn them into meaningful insights.
* Confident communicator who works well with multiple teams and can present analysis clearly and concisely.
We look forward to receiving your application. #J-18808-Ljbffr
