Offer description

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Long-Term, Near Southam, Warwickshire
Some children need someone steady in their corner, every single day. Someone who listens, stays calm, and keeps showing up. If that sounds like you, this role is worth reading.
A small, welcoming village primary school near Southam, Warwickshire is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil full-time. This is a long-term position running until at least the end of the current academic year, with potential to continue into September and beyond.
The pupil you'll be supporting is responds really well to individual attention. They're currently being referred for an autism assessment and have some emotional regulation needs rooted in past experiences. That means there will be moments that are challenging, including some shouting and tears, but there will also be real breakthroughs. The kind you remember.
Your base will be the Year 4 classroom, with access to a dedicated nurture space called The Nest when the pupil needs a quieter environment to regulate or talk things through. It's a calm, comfortable room, set up more like a lounge than a classroom, with soft furnishings and a relaxed feel.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing consistent, patient 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil throughout the school day
* Helping the pupil feel heard, settled, and ready to engage with learning
* Using The Nest nurture provision when the pupil needs space to regulate
* Working alongside the class teacher and support staff in a collaborative classroom environment
* Maintaining regular communication with the SENCO to share observations and progress
* Adapting your approach based on the pupil's mood, regulation state, and needs on the day
* Contributing to a calm, structured routine that helps the pupil feel safe and secure
We're looking for someone who:
* Has at least 6 months' experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting
* Is patient, calm, and genuinely unflappable when behaviour is challenging
* Understands the "why" behind dysregulated behaviour and doesn't take it personally
* Knows how to build trust with a child slowly and consistently over time
* Has some knowledge of autism, SEMH needs, or emotional regulation approaches
* Is reliable and committed to being a consistent presence for one pupil
* Holds, or is willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service
What's on offer:
* Full-time hours, five days per week
* A long-term placement with genuine potential to extend
* Day-one induction and a warm welcome from the school team
* Ongoing support from an experienced SENCO
* Access to a Headteacher and Director of Inclusion actively involved in the pupil's provision
Why Sprint?
If you're looking to work as a teacher in a mainstream classroom, providing day-to-day supply cover, we're probably not the agency for you. But if you're passionate about supporting students with additional needs and want a long-term role where you can build consistency and see the impact of your work every day, that's exactly what we do.
Next Steps
If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference, register your interest today.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.
