Our client, a leading manufacturer of rail infrastructure products, is seeking a Business Development Director to strengthen its position in the rail sector. The organisation delivers innovative and sustainable solutions to some of the UK and Europe’s most complex transport and infrastructure challenges.
This senior leadership role sits within the commercial leadership team of the rail division and carries responsibility for strategy, new business growth, and profitability in the business. The position focuses on expanding market share for a portfolio of products with rail customers, while also securing opportunities in adjacent markets, delivering margin-accretive revenue growth in line with corporate objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and implement business development strategies to expand market share and deliver profitable growth.
2. Prepare go-to-market plans for new customers and target markets.
3. Build and sustain strong B2B relationships, often with tier-1 rail contractors and Network Rail, representing the business across the sector with credibility.
4. Develop a high-performing business development team.
