JMC Aviation is recruiting a Mechanic / Licensed Mechanic to join our established, reputable team at our Luton base. This is a permanent, full‑time position.
The Role
The Mechanic will be actively involved in line and base maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures, Part 145 standards and delegated by licensed engineers and engineering managers. They will conduct and maintain high standards of aircraft maintenance, working safely and timely, and following approved data, MOE/work instructions and regulations.
As part of a small team, the mechanic will also manage company mobile phones during shifts and provide feedback to customers. The role is hands‑on and requires active participation in aircraft maintenance.
Good experience in both line and scheduled maintenance is beneficial.
In the corporate/private aviation context, the mechanic will professionally deal with enquiries from customers or crew, either directly or by liaising with internal departments to ensure completion, providing regular feedback and acting as the first point of contact when necessary.
The mechanic will be required to work flexibly and may need to work away from base at times, maintaining a pro‑active and flexible approach.
Hours of Work
The Luton base operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Applicants must be flexible and professional, covering a 24‑hour operation including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
A 4 on – 4 off shift pattern is normally used, though occasional lone working or varying shift times may occur due to workload. Initial training will be Monday to Friday.
The Successful Candidate
Preference is given to applicants with experience in a corporate/private aviation environment or experience on any of the following:
Good computer skills (Microsoft packages, general systems knowledge). Sheet‑metal experience is beneficial but not essential.
Applicants should be organised, adaptable, flexible, with strong interpersonal skills, a diplomatic approach, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and maintain a professional appearance and manner even under difficult circumstances.
Key attributes: prioritise in changing environments, remain calm, adapt under pressure, excellent communication, courtesy, integrity, good administration skills, and computer literacy.
Full UK driving licence and right to live and work in the UK are essential. A 5‑year checkable security history is required for airport ID pass.
