We are seeking a compassionate and motivated registered nurse to join our team on ward 37, a specialist dementia and delirium ward.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care to patients in a dynamic clinical environment. As a Registered Nurse on our dementia and delirium ward, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients with complex emotional and physical needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment
* Undertake a wide range of diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, visual fields, intra‑ocular pressures following the completion of a robust training program.
* Support care for patients with eye emergencies, both during the working day and in regular overnight on‑calls to support the medical team.
* Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
* Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
* Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct and The Trust's Values (kindness, openness, excellence).
* Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
