Members' Assistant

All the criteria below, both essential and desirable, will be assessed via your application form; further methods will be used to support this in the interview/selection stage should your application progress. Qualifications and training

* Essential: A minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C, including English and Maths or equivalent, or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
* Desirable:


Experience and knowledge

* Method of Assessment: D, I, T
* Essential:
o Experience of working in an office environment
o Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and Powerpoint
* Desirable:
o Awareness of and interest in democracy and the work of councils
o Experience of working in a local authority or other public sector body
o Knowledge of local government functions and structure


Specialist skills and abilities

* Essential:
o Good oral and written communication skills
o Excellent IT skills and an ability to learn new systems quickly
o High standard of presentation of work and excellent attention to detail
o Methodical and organised approach to work
o Ability to work in a team environment and also independently

o Ability to work from the Guildhall, Shrewsbury on a regular basis, with occasional home working when not required in the office
