A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Shift Manager to join a fast‑paced food manufacturing operation in Bolton. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a hands‑on environment and is passionate about safety, quality, people development, and continuous improvement.
We have two positions available, one to work PM shift 2pm-10pm, and the other to work NIGHT shift 10pm-6am, both Monday to Friday.
About the Role
You will lead and develop manufacturing teams across the shift, ensuring the shift runs safely, efficiently, and effectively. You'll play a key role in driving performance, maintaining high standards, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, promoting a proactive safety culture.
2. Maintaining Food Safety & Quality standards, ensuring all products meet required specifications and documentation is completed accurately.
3. Managing labour, materials, waste, and other controllable costs to meet budget targets.
4. Leading, coaching, and developing Shift and Team Managers, supporting training, succession planning, and engagement across the shift.
5. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance across all business pillars.
6. Upholding high hygiene and GMP standards, ensuring the site is audit‑ready at all times.
7. Monitoring and improving KPIs across efficiency, waste, and overall plant performance.

11. Excellent planning, organisation, and problem‑solving abilities.
12. Confidence working with systems such as MS Office and SAP.
13. A collaborative approach, building open and respectful relationships across teams.
14. Flexibility to meet the demands of a busy 24‑hour operation.
