Finance Head (Project-related industry preferred)
Our client is an early-stage business operating within the infrastructure and industrial solutions sector, focused on delivering asset-based project solutions across regional markets. As the business continues to build its operational and commercial platform, they are seeking a hands‑on Finance Head to establish and lead the finance function from the ground up.
This role will report directly to the CEO and will combine strategic finance leadership with hands‑on execution, supporting business growth, project development, governance, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership & Business Partnering Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team on financial planning, long‑term business planning, decision support, and growth initiatives.
End-to-End Finance Operations Establish and manage the full finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, payments, financial reporting, and day‑to‑day finance operations.
Systems & Process Setup Lead ERP selection and implementation, while setting up scalable finance systems, processes, policies, and controls from the ground up.
Governance, Compliance & Reporting Ensure strong governance across audit, tax, statutory reporting, shareholder reporting, and regulatory compliance across relevant operating jurisdictions.
Project Finance & Costing Oversee project costing, budgeting, and tax planning for large-scale projects, working closely with commercial and project teams to support accurate financial planning and execution.
Team & Function Build‑Out Build foundational finance policies, controls, and eventually a small finance team as the business continues to scale.
Requirements
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA / CA qualification would be advantageous.
* Around 10–15 years of experience in a senior finance role, such as Finance Head, Finance Manager, Controller, or equivalent.
* Strong end-to-end finance experience, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow, audit, tax, and governance.
* Prior experience in a start‑up, scale‑up, project-based, asset-heavy, engineering, maritime, energy, infrastructure, or industrial services environment would be advantageous.
* Experience with ERP selection, implementation, or finance process setup.
* Strong exposure to project costing and project financial management.
* Hands‑on and pragmatic individual, comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels.
* Able to work in an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment and build structure from scratch.
* Strong stakeholder management, communication, and business partnering skills.
