Halian Technology are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (Core) to lead the development and delivery of innovative, high-quality software solutions and complex application integrations. This is a key leadership role in driving modern engineering practices, supporting and developing a team of skilled engineers, and collaborating closely across multiple teams to deliver secure, scalable, and customer-focused digital products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of core data and integration platforms, supporting the transition to cloud-first solutions.
* Build and maintain cloud-based environments using CI/CD pipelines aligned with best practices.
* Define and enforce engineering standards, collaborating with internal and partner teams to ensure alignment.
* Act as a technical lead on projects, providing advice, guidance, and practical solutions.
* Collaborate with Architecture teams to ensure solutions follow agreed design patterns.
* Develop clean, high-quality code using modern development techniques.
* Create and maintain DevOps pipelines with a focus on automation and security.
* Maintain technical documentation supporting design, delivery, and release processes.
* Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Monitor and improve key performance metrics such as defect density, deployment frequency, and automation coverage.
What You’ll Bring:
* Strong leadership skills with proven ability to mentor and develop engineering teams.
* Deep expertise in software development with technologies including .NET, Azure Data Factory, JSON, XML, and data warehousing.
* Experience building cloud-based environments on Microsoft Azure or AWS, using infrastructure as code.
* Hands-on experience with automated software development practices, DevOps pipelines, and security-first solutions.
* Knowledge of software engineering standards and best practices including TDD, BDD.
* Familiarity with event-driven architecture and designing highly available, disaster recovery-compliant solutions.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
* Degree in Computer Science or related discipline; cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) are a plus.
