Environmental Health Officer – Shetland Islands Council
Salary: £53,367.92 – £55,221.35 per year (inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,997 per annum). Relocation package applies. Permanent full‑time post (37.0 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year).
Responsibilities
* Provide a high quality service to the public, the business community and external organisations.
* Undertake the full duties of an Environmental Health Officer in accordance with legislative requirements and the Council’s policies and priorities.
* Work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* Conduct inspections, investigations and investigations into environmental health matters.

Qualifications
* Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent (confirmation from REHIS).
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., REHIS or Chartered Institute of Environmental Health).
* Ability to travel throughout Shetland on short notice where public transport is limited.
* Open to flexible working or part‑time arrangements.
