Head of Sales / Director of Sales – Digital, Data & Solutions (DDS)
Location: London or Central UK
Working pattern: Hybrid, with regular UK travel
The opportunity
We are looking for a senior, commercially driven sales leader to take ownership of our Digital, Data & Solutions (DDS) business. This is a market-facing role with real autonomy, where you will shape how we sell, what we sell, and how we go to market.
You will be the face of DDS externally, leading high-value, consultative sales conversations at C-suite level and playing a hands-on role in the largest and most strategic deals. Internally, you will bring together the full DDS sales effort, providing structure, clarity and commercial leadership across the portfolio.
This role suits someone who comes from a consultancy-led or boutique digital transformation background and enjoys selling outcomes, not just services.
What you’ll be doing
* Own and lead the DDS sales function across digital transformation, data, AI and business solutions
* Act as the senior sales lead on major opportunities, particularly across the mid-market with selective enterprise engagement
* Shape and execute go-to-market strategy with full autonomy
* Build and manage a clear, well-governed sales operation, including pipeline management and forecasting
* Lead and support sales overlay and pre-sales teams (currently 4 people, growing to around 7)
* Work directly with customers in a consultative capacity, shaping solutions and defining the scope of transformation programmes
* Drive growth within a DDS business of c. £7m turnover, with responsibility for generating approximately half of this annually
* Collaborate closely with senior practice leaders across the Microsoft ecosystem, including data platforms, Dynamics/Business Central, SharePoint and database services
The sales environment
* Predominantly mid-market customers, with some enterprise opportunities
* Sales cycles typically range from 1 to 6 months
* Focus on both new business and expansion within existing accounts
* Strong emphasis on consultative, transformation-led selling
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in a senior sales role within digital, data or technology-led services
* Strong consultative selling capability, ideally from a boutique digital or transformation consultancy
* Comfortable selling at C-suite level and acting as a senior market representative
* Commercially credible, with the ability to clearly articulate how a sales operation should be governed
* High-level understanding of the Microsoft digital, data and business applications landscape
* Experience with selling the Microsoft tech stack is preferred
* Willing to travel across the UK
Previous line management experience is welcome but not essential. This role is about leadership, presence and commercial ownership as much as formal people management.
