Overview
Talent STEM are partnering with a leading manufacturer operating within a high-hazard, regulated environment. We're seeking a Chemical Engineer with strong process safety expertise to support ongoing plant development and compliance activities. You'll apply technical knowledge across complex chemical processes, supporting safety assurance, risk management, and operational performance. Working closely with engineering, operations, and HSE teams, you'll help ensure systems and practices meet the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support HAZOP, LOPA, and other hazard studies.
* Develop and maintain process safety management systems.
* Provide input on plant design, modification, and commissioning.
* Contribute to COMAH compliance and regulatory engagement.
* Identify improvements to enhance safety and efficiency.
* Support incident investigations and action closure.
* Promote process safety best practice across the site.
Experience and Qualifications
* Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
* Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or high-hazard manufacturing.
* Strong working knowledge of process safety principles and UK regulations (COMAH, DSEAR, etc.).
* Skilled in HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessment techniques.
* Confident communicator with strong problem‑solving skills.
