Mental Health IPS Job Retention Specialist

As an Job Retention Specialist you will play a rewarding and vital role in helping people with mental health needs maintain and sustain employment.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate in joining us to develop the service and transform someone’s life. This role calls for empathy and the ability to initiate and develop relationships with a variety of individuals and be able to engage employers using a variety of methods such as via the telephone or face-to-face in the community. Alongside having strong and persuasive communication skills, excellent time management, and exceptional organisational and administrative skills.
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines.
Main duties of the job
What is a Mental Health IPS Job Retention Specialist?
This is an exciting and dynamic role, where no one day is the same and you’ll be making a genuine difference to people’s lives. Using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model you’ll be:
Providing a specialist service, autonomously managing a caseload of service users to enable them to retain their employment working with colleagues within CPFT community mental health teams and Primary Care across the county.
Supporting and advocating on behalf of mental health service users who are at risk of losing their job due to a serious mental illness.
Providing advice and ongoing support on issues including employment rights, reasonable adjustments, and phased return to work plans.
Supporting with tribunals and employment termination applications.
Providing workplace support to the service user and employer to promote inclusion and reduce discrimination and stigma.
Promoting recovery, financial independence and social inclusion of mental health service users.
Please note, this is not an administrative role, it is client facing role which includes working to achieve set KPIs and targets.
