Speech and Language Teaching Assistant
Full-time, Long-term
We’re looking for a compassionate Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to support students in a welcoming secondary school. Some pupils need a little extra help expressing themselves, understanding language, or building confidence in communication. That’s where you come in.
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and speech and language therapists, you’ll help students develop the skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
What the role involves
• Supporting students with speech, language, and communication needs
• Delivering small group or one-to-one interventions
• Helping pupils understand lessons and express their ideas clearly
• Working alongside the SENCO and external specialists
• Creating a calm and supportive learning environment
We’re looking for someone who
• Has experience supporting young people with SEN or communication needs
• Is patient, encouraging, and confident building relationships with teenagers
• Can adapt communication styles to support different learners
• Has a genuine passion for helping pupils grow in confidence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
