PUBLIC SECTOR ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER

Our Public Sector Financial Reporting and Accounting Support (“FRAS”) team supports non-audit clients in accounting, financial reporting, and finance functions, helping finance directors find sustainable solutions to complex issues. Our UK audit practice employs over 2,300 people across 24 locations, and our Public Sector Audit team comprises over 470 professionals working with NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, and other public bodies. A look into the role
As a manager in our public sector financial reporting team, you will:
* Manage delivery of non-audit engagements, ensuring quality standards.
* Work with clients to solve complex technical accounting issues, including new standards and financial reporting.
* Participate in team responsibilities, training, and project development.
* Contribute to business development and generate new service ideas.
* Oversee team members in project delivery.
* Manage project finances and client onboarding.
* Build strong relationships with clients and team members.
* Continuously seek personal and business growth opportunities.
Knowing you’re right for us
Minimum requirements include:
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, or CIPFA).
* Post-qualification experience in professional services or local government/health finance functions.
* Strong understanding of IFRS standards in the public sector.
* Excellent knowledge of public sector financial reporting.
* Project management experience.
* Relationship management skills.
* Business development experience (beneficial).
* Experience coaching junior staff.
